That is just shipping. I’m a contractor (Electrical quality and testing) for some very large private organizations and have many sub contractors. Think of how ridiculous this inflation is in all of our every day lives. Cost of all goods, etc, are way up but my prevailing wage is already pretty set based on quote cycles from the guys with the money and contracts. That means I have contracts set up and being currently executed below prevailing wages. I’m assuming this is also effecting many service industry contractors the same and not just construction. (We can’t just up our price tag on shelved goods and immediately see results)
Prices have gone up for next cycle, but that work doesn’t start for another 8 months or so, and who knows how much worse it will get by then.
I've been looking for a deal on wire to run out to my shop so I can use the welder for a long damn time now. Never in my life did I think 200' of wire would be so beyond attainable
It's fucking grim, and every time I look it's grimmer.
It has to get bad I suppose, we have been looking at this as a puzzle for so long we forget it’s going to cuck us too. Everything has to collapse for the reset yeah? The mortgage market is exponentially worse than 07 and getting bigger, they are talking about auto loans, personal loans, and every type of security being on the brink of some apocalypse, no one is getting past the destruction of the global economy. Nothing can stop that I hear. What comes after is the ??
