Studying journalism in high school, I discovered that the writers had to know better in order to twist the stories the way they did.

I imagined them typing away and chuckling with evil grins as they 'groomed' their audience.

Absolutely. If it was just ignorance, then we would have good info come out once in a while by chance. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
