I just drove through Jackson, MS on my way to TX last Fri. From the AL border, all the way to the Louisiana border, the air smelled atrocious, like poison-poop-methane-rotten-cabbage-garbage-disposal. Never smelled anything so rotten and bad in my life. I thought sewage smell could only get so bad, that a rotten Texaco latrine was peak stench......... Not even close. I was literally fighting for air as the smell overpowered my cabin-filter and flatlined my brand new air freshener. It started absorbing the stink.
Heard about the situation before I embarked on the trip, thinking, Im going to be on the highway anyway, I WILL NOT stop in Jackson for any reason.
Next thing you know, my GPS (who I trusted with all my heart) led me off an exit right into downtown Jackson. You've GOT to be kidding me!
So there I am, on State Street, ground-zero, center of downtown Jackson for absolutely no good reason. I should be on the damn highway right now!
I was expecting bedlam, instead, there wasn't a visible soul. No cars on the road, no people walking on the sidewalks, all businesses closed.............COMPLETELY abandoned. Super dystopian.
Never in my life have I had an entire city all to myself.
Kinda crazy that it took you that way. Should have stayed on i55 till you get to 220. I work right off of State street. I just came in today and you are right, it smells like rotten eggs.

At least the gas in downtown was $2.99/gal.....
New jersey smells like that
I don't know how people live in that kind of cloud. I could taste the meningitis in the air.......
New Orleans can't be far behind at this point
LoL... Luckily I work seasonly in Jackson and I dont have to go in much this time of year.
