Jokes aside, this is one of those things that the MSM can drool over. Drives lots of eyes to old media, new media - doesn't matter. Gets attention, gets clicks and hits. And of course, people can fall all over themselves trying to outdo each other on who is more sympathetic, who feels more deeply about the death.
