Looks like it fell on a saturday in 2016 and a sunday on 2017, and no weekend since until this year.

It won't happen until something definitive breaks on the news that highlights a widespread crime being revealed. Probably something so horrific that the people involved know beyond a doubt that they are exposed and that they are either going to be executed or spend life in prison. There are many of these crimes, who knows which revelation triggers this.
