Yup. If anything,the tops of the buildings should've leaned over or broken off and fell.maybe crushed a floor or 2 below. Not take the whole building straight down to the ground.
It was argued at the time the inner beams were structurally weakened by the high heat of airplane fuel. But what about the outer beams that took the brunt of direct kinetic impact? The outer beams should have buckled first even if the inner beams did crumple under those high temps (which is highly unlikely in the first place).
