Why would a despot agree to Dearie unless the despot has leverage on Dearie?

Does Trump have counter-leverage?

Is Trump setting up Dearie knowing that Dearie will break the law at the behest of the puppet masters?

Assuming Dearie is a somewhat honest judge…

DOJ is betting they can pull another fast one.

Trump is hoping Dearie will be extra vigilant having been the victim of shenanigans.

Again I’m assuming Dearie is an honest judge who was duped, and hoping Trump’s lawyers have the right of it.

Eggzactly - if the DOJ/FBI rejected Dearie, then in essence they call into question his judgement when he approved the warrant to surveil Carter Page.
