I meantncornnleft standing for game, not the trapping stuff. My apologies. In some areas, corn will be left up as hiding area for game and then used for hunting.
Some farmers that sponsors Dove hunting on Labor Day clear most of field & leave several pockets for a blind.
In my area farmers don’t use corn fields for hunting. Duck hunting is on the water, not a field. The corn grown for food will be left in field till late October. That varies, they get paid more for less water content.
Hunters around here hunt in the woods and some have a large deer stand in an open field. We have 21 acres left by my grandparents. It’s mostly swampy, old sand pit from 30s or 40s & some fire lanes dug decades ago.
My husband uses kids wooden play sets found cheap. He added a roof & frame with a window. They Turkey hunt on the ground.
