And I remember when soda pop came in glass bottles that you took back to the store and got a nickel for every one you returned...then they started putting it in plastic containers.

(who was the same age) and I would spend many many Saturdays all day out along the local highways picking up bottles.. pop bottles were 3 cents and beer bottles were a penny.. never got an allowance (which was a Good thing) so if we wanted something we earned it.. best times and best lessons I could have had..
