OMG, I'm beyond jealous and super intrigued to hear more about your visit! I've known about this place for so many years and learned that they even tried to recreate the structures there by transporting massive basalt logs that I don't even think were 50 tons and the wooden boats they used were capsized by the weight of them. They tried using wooden logs to roll the same basalt pieces onto to try and move them that way and those were crushed. How they built those structures are still a mystery by CONVENTIONAL means! Such a fascinating place that we definitely should take a closer look at!
