I get what you're saying. My take: Group gestures can affect personality types differently. If someone is highly individualistic they are uncomfortable with herd like symbolism of any kind. More group oriented personalities can find such gestures more acceptable. Personally, I'm highly individualistic.
Attending rallies is one way individuals come together and bond as a team capable of working together a team. Teamwork is essential to survival when Storms hit.
Those who are so "highly individualistic" that they havent bonded can still be very useful but survival, when Storms hit, depends on there being enough people who ARE bonded.
