Lawmakers blast Army soldier food stamp suggestion amid Biden’s student loan handout: 'Outrageous'
Several lawmakers fumed while speaking to Fox News Digital over the Army suggesting food stamps for soldiers struggling with inflation amid the president's student loan handout.
Army Wife - toughest job in the Army
We who have spent our time know of your struggle and steadfastness. And we are in awe of your sacrifice.
Thank you is not adequate but it is all I have to give. I do so humbly and gratefully
Thank you! It's not easy being an Army wife, especially when they go to war or deployed out of country.
Yes..my wife was pregnant in Germany while I was in Desert Storm. Many other exercises, jump operations, 2AM phone calls, travel - those who have never served can say "Thank You for your service" to me all day long, but they have no concept that the entire family serves. Blessings to you and yours.
What a coincidence, I was also pregnant when my husband was in Desert Storm also, we had a boy 😊 Husband came home a month after he was born. My experience giving birth in a military hospital (at Air Force base) was absolutely horrible, along with the 3 days I had to endure before I was able to go home. My mom (was there for all 3 of my kid's births) & stepdad were there, but if not for them I would have had absolutely No One in or even close to my birthing room. I was at the end of a dark hallway and the only time a nurse or midwife came in was to do a quick check on me and leave. I got to have one phone call from my husband hours after giving birth.
Not to mention all the money, supplies & military equipment he sent to UkrAine, also all the money being spent and given to all the illegals swarming our Country! But our military have to go on food stamps to feed their families.
I can tell you 30+ years ago soldiers newly in (E-3 +) didn't get paid enough to live off of for a family of 3 (our daughter was a toddler at the time and still in diapers) at that time, because we lived it. We made do but there were times we couldn't afford to wash our clothes in the laundry and had to take a calculator to the food store to make sure we didn't spend more than we had. We would use everything in our account after bills were paid to buy food until next pay day, I can tell you by the time pay day rolled around again we had bare cabinets & frig. As my husband moved up in rank it got a tad easier but not by much.
And they expect these soldiers to go and die for this Country and everyone who lives here, but don't want to pay them what they deserve. And I'm sure they don't pay them much more than they did 30 yrs ago, with of course comparing of cost of living then vs now.
I joined in 94 and active duty duty during the day, delivered pizzas at night and squeezed in college in between. Also on WIC. Important point you make about cost of living then vs now. I’m laughing now because I remember getting excited about having extra cash for Taco Bell. Good times…
I know right!! We would Woohoo if we could afford to meet up with other struggling army friends at the bowling alley to play a game, lol. Alot of times we would have get togethers at friends homes (took turns of who's mobile home we would have it at) and everyone brought at least one dish, chips or drinks, because no one could afford to do anything else, and that way kids are always welcome, no one had babysitters, couldn't afford them.
