I've got an electric car, but I'm not doing it for the environment. I'm doing it to save myself some money. I've got a consistent bill with my electric company, i pay the same month to month regardless of how much energy i use. I can charge it at home at night and it's fully charged and ready to go the next morning. I do all my local driving for free, basically. And i don't even have to stop at a gas station with this thing. I've got an ICE SUV for long-distance travels, but i do my local commuting with my electing car. Works well for me.
Where is such an electric bill arrangement possible? I know you can get a fixed rate plan, based on average usage throughout a year, but at the end of the year, if you've used more than that average, you pay the extra. There is no such thing as free electricity. Even the solar panels, when all costs are considered, probably are a net negative (but the government subsidies make it seem like they are "paying for themselves")
