I did this same sort of test with various phrases:
"Ate a sandwich 2020" - 24.8 Million
"Ate a sandwich 2021" - 25.5 Million
"Ate a sandwich 2022" - 43.1 Million
"Bring the Beat In 2020" - 472 Million
"Bring the Beat In 2021" - 667 Million
"Bring the Beat In 2022" - 1.28 Billion
"Pancakes 2020" - 129 Million
"Pancakes 2021" - 164 Million
"Pancakes 2022" - 334 Million
I don't think you're finding anything all that significant here.
Google is lying about the number of results. Try to browse deep into any of those searches and it will be nothing but corporate garbage for less than 50 pages
I think this is true for just about anything -- the internet is only growing in size. More and more sites exist on any subject every day, every month, every year.
Here's "scientific discovery 2020" -- 314,000,000 results
Then "scientific discovery 2021" -- 399,000,000 results
Then "scientific discovery 2022" -- 527,000,000 results
Or like so:
Here's "pineapple varieties 2020" -- 20,100,000 results
Then "pineapple varieties 2021" -- 22,200,000 results
Then "pineapple varieties 2022" -- 40,800,000 results
Yeah, but even those examples aren't (seemingly) exponentially increasing.
Ill have to remember to test it next year haha
