Had a conversation with someone earlier about the hellhole that is Charlottesville, Virginia. He was talking about how much he hated it there, how rude people were, how liberal etc. Apparently his neighbor had the cops called on him for "carrying too many assault rifles out of his truck and into his house" at one point. Like most, he hated it and moved somewhere he felt more at home.
This was all 5+ Years ago though, which caused me to wonder. How are things right now in areas such as Charlottesville and other Urban Hellholes? I know that I'm a big proponent of there are no blue states and very few blue cities, but I find myself curious if people seem to be at least questioning the reality of things in such areas.
Charlottesville may be one of those few areas that really and truly are full of idiotic liberal sheep, since it's a large college city/county with little else going on, so the majority of the population have something to do with the corrupt education system or some kind of University funded program, study, experiment, etc. Heck, if you go by population, the college makes up 74% of the city proper and nearly 22% of the city and surrounding county. So it's easy to see how this could be one of the few true blue areas in the country.
So with all that in mind, I'm curious about if it seems people are waking up any in these areas, college towns in particular since they seem to be some of the few areas where actual liberals will congregate, if for no other reason than to smell each others farts and talk about how "superior" they are to the rest of for being "educated".
NOTE: If you're uncomfortable saying where you're from or near then DON'T say it. I'm not asking for specifics, just if anyone has noticed any kind of positive changes.
Mind elaborating a bit? This is something I've never really researched in depth. What does hollywood have to do with Charlottesville and Harrisonburg?
Hollywood has nothing to do with Harrisonburg but back in the late '70s through '80s celebs like writer (and gay activist) Rita Mae Brown, actress Sissy Spacek and actor Robert Duvall (bad example because he at least used to be conservative) lived in Charlottesville/Albemarle County. UVA has always been a university and was founded by Thomas Jefferson. It and Charlottesville have become very left wing liberal. Personally, I believe Charlottesville was chosen for what I'm sure was a staged event that could be used against Trump in 2017 because cooperation from the liberal governor (and Soros stooge) McAuliffe and mayor could be counted on.
Both were small cities surrounded by conservative rural counties. James Madison University was, before the Dems started pouring money into it, was a small women's college. It's now, like Charlottesville, a liberal city surrounded by conservatives. Rockingham County has been the most conservative county in the state for a very long time. This part of Virginia has been staunchly Republican for a long time.
