And in the pdf there's a million and one reasons they can deny a warranty claim, and the arbitration clause means you can't sue Tesla for noncompliance.
Reasons that can void your warranty: •Not updating the software on the vehicle •Having your car towed •Having any work done by a non-authorized dealership •Damage from non-Tesla chargers •Damage from Tesla chargers bought after the car's purchase •Not having work done in a timely manner
And lastly, the warranty claim only entitles you to a remanufactured battery that meets the minimum warrantied specifications appropriate for the age and wear of the vehicle. Kind of a shit deal IMO.
And a ICE car warranty differs? Reliability wise, the EV has a fraction of the moving parts. MTBF is far higher on the EV (approaching 1 million miles on average)
Virtually no maintenance. Tire rotation (probably shorter tire life due to EV greater weight). But overall lower cost of ownership.
Are they perfect for everyone and everywhere? No. Absolutely not. But they are improving
