I have to ask myself an honest question every time I hear the govt. try to tell me that my [national] security has been endangered because some whistleblower exposed govt. property to the media- MY PROPERTY; bought and paid for with MY tax dollars.
And the older I get, the more I want to tell anyone from the govt. who spouts that bullshit at me to fuck right off.
Why? Because, I see quite a number of faults with that whole one-sided thought process. I don't feel like going into long winded rant about everything I believe is wrong with demonizing whistleblowers, but I will touch on a couple of those points.
*This first big problem I've got with the "whistleblower's are wrong, cuz muh natl. security" narrative is the fact that we the people DO NOT CONSENT TO OUR GOVT. VIOLATING OUR CONSTITUTION!
That point is always glossed over by the establishment with some horseshit excuse that always sounds something just like this: "But we violated the constitution for the greater good, little peasants."
As if the govt. has any kind of constitutional authority to hide crimes, and their violations of the constitutional rights against American citizens. The arrogance displayed by the govt. establishment when they defend their wanton lawlessness is sickening to behold.
The second big problem I have with this whole demonizing of whistleblower's narrative is the fact that the govt. CANNOT PROVE that any "damage to national security" was done at all!
Personally, I have a very, very hard time believing that pretty much anything any whistleblower divulges is/was any kind of "secret."
When I stop to consider how many filthy, corrupt, immoral snakes infest our govt. I simply cannot accept the notion that these so called "national security secrets" were not sold, or traded by those within our govt. to adversaries long before the American public ever heard about it.
And, that is besides the idea that simple incompetence from the boobs in govt. could have lost those secrets, too.
TL;DR: Whistleblowers wouldn't be a problem if the govt. did not spend our tax money to do unconstitutional/illegal things against American citizens. Fuck 'em. I want to see lots more whistleblowing.
We the people can decide for ourselves if "safety" is worth allowing our govt. to secretly commit crimes, and violate the constitutional rights of US citizens.
