I think I understand what you mean. It is confirmation bias when something happens today, and we go though 4000+ Q posts years ago to find something that fits. This is the same with the "theory" of attributing a number to a word (can't remember the term for that), where you find all other words that give the same number. One of the words then "suddenly" has meaning as well. Or finding something today that adds up to 17 without talking about the thousands of other stuff that doesn't add up to 17.
Coincidence is something happening at random and not being planned.
Guess the difference is a matter of perspective...
