Of particular note, I find "Grays Sports Almanac" to be very interesting. Grays does not have an apostrophe indicating the almanac is by a person named "Gray". Instead it may refer to the Grays; aliens. Marty is introduced to the almanac in the vintage store and there are space photographs in the background.
Also, it was Marty McFLY who turned the twin pines (towers) into the lone pine (tower). Fly, like the airplanes that hit the towers.

The universe splits off on Oct 2. It ends on halloween I believe and the world returns to oct 2 where donnie dies instead of surviving the plane crashing into his home.
