I said, "I may be mistaken..."
The link you provided says "Altitude 10 meters."
Yes, I see that. But I didn't see a value for 3000 feet.
Dude/dudette, I don't understand what you're so angry about, but, again, I was just adding to the conversation, and said, AGAIN, "I may be mistaken..." -- and I wasn't even responding directly to you, although, you added to my sub-thread. I was detailing my own thoughts I expressed in my earlier post. Does that sound like someone who's trying to pick a fight??? You can check my post history. I don't come here to do that.
I don't see how anything I said "stoked fear." I began by commenting that I had seen a phenomena before, that these sites that post wind speeds had, in previous storms I've watched, never matched the "official" wind speeds posted.
That said, having lived through a Cat 5 storm, I can definitely say that the wind speeds at ground level were accurate for the storm I experienced. I was even posing a question...i.e., what gives?
I know these websites use some sort of software calculations to arrive what they post, but why is it so far off? Is it the calculations themselves, or is it something more nefarious? I don't have an answer for that. Nor do I have an answer for the 3,000 foot question you posed.
In no way, shape, or form, did I say anything whatsoever to make people fearful. If anything, I was posing the possibility that the wind speeds may not be as high as officially reported, not the other way around.
Even you yourself are finding discrepancies...that's all I'm wondering about. Why are you only finding 125mph when the official reports are saying 155? We must examine this, because it's another method of discovering (possibly) the truth through yet another lie the media (?) NOAA (?) is feeding us.
Sometimes the way into/through a discussion is made through posing questions...questions that others may not have considered. I'm not an expert on anything, but I do try to think of other possibilities. Isn't that what we do here on GAW?
