Personally, I am pro-Communist but fervently anti-Marxist. The Communists were basically like today's Republicans until 1848, when they started taking over, and then Karl Marx fucked it up forever. 1) Before Marx many Communists believed in God; after Marx, Communism was against God. 2) Before Marx, Communism was against the State, afterward, Marxist Communism was all state, all the time (they put in that stupid thing about "the state will naturally wither away after we have killed you all.") The early Communists started communes, and a lot of them were Christian communes. Now mind you, I don't necessarily think any of it was functional, but the early Commies at least had their heart in the right place. It was only after Marx that they became completely awful.
