I see what you're saying here. Ok, I guess someone COULD do a mock translation as a meme. But a meme or a mock <translation><quote> etc, has to be readily recognizable for it to be effective in a positive way.
I got nothing like that from the video, although I have to admit I did not watch the entire thing. But I did get the impression that this (the subtitling) was in fact being offered as a legit thing, not an instructive or humorous mockup.
If one pays attention, one can see a LOT of disinfo and black propaganda being pushed into the truth sphere, and it seems both logical and reasonable to assume that it has a destructive purpose. That's what information warfare via black propaganda is all about.
I still am highly suspicious of the intention behind this, but you've opened my eyes to a possibility I hadn't considered.
