It worked really well for my cousins who had shit credit and could rent to own over time. They've all quit doing it I'm thinking because they got their finances figured out and just outright buy stuff when they need it instead of credit or payment plans. Or they realized it's more expensive.
Have you actually seen the prices at these ‘Rent to a Deadbeat’ Centers? 3x’s the retail price if you were to buy it outright.
What happened was they used to be bargains. But with online shopping now and online discounts you can buy what you need outright used or refurbished.
Rent a center concept probably reached its apex in the late 90s max. It just hasn't adapted with the changing times.
