More in the sense of "you reap what you sow."

The concept of karma also reflects on reincarnation of the same soul, a murderer for example may not see punishment, but may have to live several lives as the victim of similar murders.

(I'm definitely not suited to debate the topic as you're clearly more knowledgeable of scripture, and when I gave my understanding of karma to a Hindu guy I worked with, he added some clarifications that are common misconception, but that is about the extent)
