Guys,
What is your opinion on what's the purpose of "History"?
Me personally.
History is not something you are supposed to blindly trust.
Simply because a story has many characters involved who might have different accounts of what happened. Also, we have to consider that bad people are not going to report their bad doings openly. They most likely will lie or not even report what happened. If a piece of history is damaging to powerful institutional forces.
They will use that power to alter the events of what happened.
History for me is something you are supposed to take into account. Use what you have learned from it to become wiser about the decisions you make in the future.
Thoughts?
I'm astounded to find History is not History as I learned it!!
That was my shower thought this morning. What is the truth? I mean really. It makes me wonder how much bs is written in the text books we had to regurgitate on paper to graduate.

I guess one point is division. It's seen in here still when peeps who apparently know our society is full of liars blantingly still accept what they want (eg post about the British statement about Africians). Its not like the British tried dominating the world .... I mean of course they have to make out everyone but themselves are the bad guys so their peeps dont feel bad for dominating the world.
I've been diving into WWII history and I've always had this feeling that germans weren't a stupidwreckless people but history portrays them as such. During my digs I've found the cycle of problems that lead to issues during the time and I dont we have been taught the whole story but a puffed up a narrative that the facts dont seem to support.
The winners seem to have wrote the history books how they wanted them to be written instead of it being an account of history. I want to know the account of history as it happened, not the fluff pieces of the victors.
