Anyone remember the climate Hockey Stick papers? MBH98 and MBH99 both written by Mann, Bradley and Hughes. They seem to follow the "now" scenario almost exactly.

They wanted to show recent warming so previous warming data was glossed over while they appended current warming data but ignored current cooling data. The methodology was published separately so that they could get all the headlines without anyone being able to check. Steve McIntyre did manage to piece some it together eventually.

Climate Models are another example of the gaslighting. They have lots of models some show warming and some show cooling and everything in between. Then they use the warming ones for the scare stories and when you question the models they find the most appropriate one and say the models had it right all along.
