One more thing about the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. It is depicted as falling apart in some scenes. In fact, one scene features a screen door for an exit door while nuclear inspectors basically rate the plant as barely satisfactory. It makes sense as Mr. Burns is at least the richest man in Springfield. He is likely hogging all the maintenance money for himself though he does pay his workers a good wage.
