What was up with the absurd amounts of cargo ships on Election Day? We’re we being threatened?

Looking back at the election night nonsense i remember SO MANY cargo ships lined up the coast. They claimed it was a cargo backed up but the more I think about it; the more I’m convinced it was a strait up threat to the USA.
