This has been on my mind for a bit, so I wanted to vent out while ask this question:
What is GreatAwakening's take on enjoying works made by wicked people?
As a Christian, I fully understand the notion of everyone falling short of God, but the wicked people I am referring to usually are the known or suspected Satanists (like Lady Gaga) or Globalist pawns (like Rhianna). Their earlier works are enjoyable, but I am not sure if I should continue to enjoy them given their reputation...
I’ve stopped listening to most of the music I’ve listened to my whole life. A good place to start is the lyrics. Really dive in and see if they are promoting a healthy idea. The more in tune with God you are, the more you’ll see what is ok and what is planting seeds of destruction. Dive deeper into the artist and what they believe. I’ve been a big fan of Tool since I was a teenager. Their drummer has been my favorite drummer of all time. When I dug into what he believes, it was shocking. He always plays in front of a large circle with geometric patterns on it. After researching, it is called a spirit board and he uses it to channel spirits into himself while drumming. He believes he has summoned a demon and trapped it in his studio through his drumming. He plays drums in certain geometric patterns that he believes help with all of this. He is enamored with the occult. I no longer listen to Tool because I feel there is spiritual danger even in just the music without any lyrics. It’s not easy to give it all up but, why play with the devils toys?
Same here. I was big Tool fan back in the day also. You are correct, get into the lyrics and they pretty much tell you what they believe. I can never listen to these "artists" the same way ever again.
