These terms confuse. We should consider heavy government intervention and little government intervention- better classifications. Fascism is very similar to communism. I would say it could be considered leftist.
They both strive for total government control. Communism says it's for the people but we all know it's bullshit. Communism tends to be more globalist, fascism has a more localized narrative. Even if Germany fought Russia it was for power just like all the wars fought. Doesn't mean they were on opposite ends of the ideals spectrum.
