Oh, it's the right forum but we have a thread for general stuff including things like this. You can find it in the front page everyday named General Chat
You can try using Libre OpenOffice. Not the same quality, but should do for simple documents. In future you can post this kinda stuff on General Chat
Also what I was going to recommend. Notepad+ is also not too bad for some simple things.
