My question is - who has the authority to charge someone with (Federal) treason? Note - some states have treason laws too.
Can any federal LEO or agent charge someone with treason or are there limitations as to who is eligible? Does it have to be a Federal Prosecutor, or Special Counsel/Prosecutor, or even the AG? Can it be a military special agent, prosecutor, or JAG?
Point is - if it has to be the AG we will never see it under MG. If the military can, we could see it. For that matter, if we could find a Sheriff based enough in a state with treason laws we could run an end-around. Get these guys arrested and in court and the evidence would be seen by all. If they were convicted the Feds would have no choice but to acknowledge it and do a federal trial as well. Then the floodgates would be opened.
