While trying to enter the GAW and Patriots.win web sites, on my personal laptop, I always have to sign in. When I go the my office computer I just click on the GAW logo and am automatically signed in. Why do I have to enter my name and password on my laptop and I do not have to do it with my office computer? Is there an internal setting I need to look at on my personal laptop and change a setting?
I also have this problem with YouTube. It frustrating that my laptop will not keep my name and password between each session.
Also, if you have a explaination please treat me like a second grader and leave step by step instructions. I am not computer literate and this is bugging me, considerably.
Thanks for any guidance.
The browser you're using on your laptop is clearing cache (memory/history), likely each time you close your browser down.
You could test this by leaving the .win sites tabs open and not closing your browser each day.
Under your browser's settings there should be a section on "history" of some sort where you can uncheck "clear cache/history on exit". You could also set up your laptop's browser to remember your credentials so you don't have to type them in every time if you wish.
All browsers are different but you should find this under "Settings or Preferences" and look for security/privacy section for the cache settings.
Often there is a check box for something like "keep me signed in".
This requires cookies to be allowed on your device (afaik). So, most likely a setting for your cookies, or, maybe you are using a browser that is set to delete cookies automatically upon closing the tab/program.
So, check browser settings...
Got it!! Finally I figured it out. I appreciate your guidance towards the settings. I clicked a couple of buttons and reset my cache files. Backed out of my search engine and went back in. Now I don't have to enter my name or password every time I come to GAW or Patriots.win. Feels good to have a small win today!!!!
