I haven't used Telegram in forever. Like many, I scrambled to find a new platform after big tech revealed their true evil and corruption.
Recently, I ran a virus scan on my android. I was wondering what took so long. As I watched it scan through my files I realized there were many GBs of telegram data stored on my phone. Apparently, even if you do not use Telegram, but it is installed, the app downloads massive data on your phone whether you intend to or not.
That is a huge red flag for me. That basically tells me they can insert whatever data they want on my phone and make it look like I downloaded it. What if they were to directly download data on to my phone that could be a crime or malware?
Regardless of what Gregg or Brian say about this issue, if you want to protect the data on your phone, and not have data installed without your knowledge, deleting the app on your phone and browsers is probably the safe decision to make.
Even if you uninstall the app, make sure you look for the telegram data directory in your file browser and make sure that is deleted too and not left behind after the uninstall.
On the bright side, you could free up massive GBs of data on your phone.
I have an iPhone, how do I remove an app, and I may not just delete it from my screen. How do you delete it completely. I don’t use it so I don’t need it.
