Ooooh. Babylon 5 was awesome, too. The Shadows vs the Vorlons, then the First steps in and the War ends.
More predictive programming.
Farpoint was the Pilot/1st episode(s) of Star Trek: TNG. The character shown, played by John De Lancie, named Q, one of a race Omnipotent beings calling themselves also, Q, would show up in the Star Trek universe and cause havoc. He, in the episodes mentioned, would pose riddles and upheave everything, either as a joke, entertainment for himself, or as in the case of the final episodes, save the Universe as they knew it.
Jerry Doyle, who played Garibaldi, wasn't acting in the show. This is exactly what he's like in real life. Was on a cruise once and he was on it. He spent most of it in the casino playing blackjack.
I guess he based his character on himself. Was he like Garibaldi in the first seasons, or the later ones?
Jason Carter (Marcus) was a drunk, but a fun drunk. He saved the entire Toronto Trek one year after the asshole who played Chakotay on ST: Voyager (Robert Beltran) almost caused the entire fan base to leave. What a prick! Thanks be to Jason Carter for saving the day.
I can't say I remember a difference between seasons. All I can say is, he was his character.
I recall a story about Doyle reading for characters in Babylon 5. He had his sights set on one character, but evidently that was taken. He was asked if he would read for any other character. He answered, "Sure, I'm here to get what I can." And the casting director said "That's it! You're perfect for Garibaldi."
