I liked listened to PM a lot early on because I was so desperate for information or other people's thoughts on the crazy Q thing. But he has worn on me for some reason, and I think it's the "some kind of oracle" thing that you mention. It's funny when people like Limbaugh and Trump troll people with the "chosen by God" thing, but creepy when people actually mean it.
