Just joking, this is most awesome thing to hit Canadian politics in a long time! As an Ontario resident, I think this will stand as a stark contrast to what Premier Doug Ford has become. He should have stood up for Ontarians but instead joined forces with the dark side. We will remember.

Quebec does this and has for decades. Its essentially a nation within Canada...that we all pay for via equalization (lol) payments.
If those transfers stop under Premier Smith then Alberta will be richer than Texas
