I’m not a Trump fan — and I’m not fond of Biden either. In fact, following the advice of U.S. founding father James Madison – – – “All men having power ought to be mistrusted” – – – I mistrust all of ’em.

My guess would be no war.
Why? After the US-led Maidan coup and the installation of a western-facing government in Ukraine there was fighting in Donbas between ethnic Ukrainians and ethnic Russians. The consequence was that agreements were negotiated in Belarus that both sides agreed to.
All it would need for peace is for Ukraine to actually stop the fighting as they agreed in Minsk. I think President Trump could have made that happen.
There have been other talks since 2014-15 but western leaders have talked Zelensky out of holding them. With a strong western leader who was against war I think the result would have been different.
Boris Johnson flew to Kiev telling Zelensky to stop talking and keep fighting. No doubt he promised western support, money weapons, aids, intel etc.
...valid observations....
