"If Elon buys Twitter, he'd own EVERY piece of intellectual property that goes with it. Including the Data Servers. What happens if Twitter's mainframe servers are located at the CIA HQ in Langley? Interwoven into those servers would be EVERY piece of intelligence from every CIA / FBI / DoD... "

The irony is that most official government systems are like 20 years behind what you find in the private sector.
Maybe the ones you know about. The good ones are always kept close to the chest.
The government has two goals with their infrastructure.
Price and Security.
Older physical systems are used because there is little to no threat of zero-day attacks, or hardware attacks.
Price ultimately comes down to contracting these days. Everything is contracted.
In the end, most systems are hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services) these days.
CIA, DOD, and many other entities host their data on AWS.
I keep telling people that the government isn't the big evil baddie most think it is. It's incompetent and impotent, sure. It's also captive.
If these corporations were to terminate every government contract, or refuse to fulfill their end of the deal, the US would be completely destroyed in a day.
From wetwork to motherboards, the US Government operates at the behest of corporations.
Most of the military is not combat arms. Less than 1%. Of that less than 1%, less than 1% of those persons see real combat.
Comparatively, contractors see far more combat. They have better gear. They have better comms. They're paid better. Most veterans who are willing to continue in the warfare industry go to contractors. They have the brain trust, the experience, the expertise, the funding.
Congress doesn't write it's own bills, the military doesn't run it's own intel platforms, or comms platforms, or C&C platforms.
At the end of the day my 2c is that the government is heading toward disaster and will be out on the street begging the American citizen to save them from the prison they built for themselves.
