I had this problem recently. The heat lamp bulb went out in my bathroom and I needed a replacement. It took myself and another (helpful, I should add) Lowe's employee to search for the correct bulb. It was LED as far as I could see. I explained to him that LED heat lamps are not viable because heat is bad for electronics and LEDs are electronically-controlled with a circuit board. You need giant heat sink fins surrounding a high watt LED bulb to dissipate heat.
We found the proper bulb after about a minute of scanning the shelves and I was able to walk out with the product I needed. It's still a troubling issue.

Maybe you should post it here as I'm sure there are others with those bathroom heat lamps that would appreciate knowing as the cold weather arrives.
