There are multiple St. Louis suburb DeMolay chapters celebrating their 100th founding anniversaries this year as well.

St. Louis is home to a Scottish Rite cathedral and the Moolah Temple built by the Shriners. The architect of the Scottish Rite cathedral was a 33rd degree mason.

SLU is a Jesuit university. SLU is nine minutes from the shooting, and right near the Mason district.
