In the United States media editorial policy has not wavered on one subject this year: Ukraine is always winning the war.
From the first week, when the Ukrainian air force and navy were smashed, to last week’s smashing of the electrical grid – this is what “victory” looks like in the Ukrainian language, apparently. The Russians can electorally incorporate territory after territory, but to suggest that Ukrainian victory hasn’t already arrived is verboten in American public spaces.
Winning might not be the right term, but we are eight months into a war it was supposed to last days and Russia controls less territory today than they did seven months and even seven weeks ago.
Obviously things are not going the way Russia thought they would.
Russia does not want territories full of rural moronic nazis. Novody wants them, including EU. They only took areas with pro-russian population. Even Mask came to the same conclusion (not a rocket science tbh). I looked at the u-kranian voting maps in February and bingo! Russians advanced right there.
...it is "winning" only in the didectic sense....
