Most Jews in my school district attended Hebrew school, openly, in addition to public school. A lot of them went to Israel on summer breaks, sometimes to work in a kibbutz, and I believe those were generally free programs offered by the Israeli government. I also have many Jewish acquaintances and some good friends. Even so, creating a separate culture within a culture, produces situations ripe for conflict.
