I want to read the Bible, cover to cover, but I don’t want some pozzed, modern translation of it.
What’s the best/most based translation of the Bible?

Good for you. I read the Bible through the first time and finished on March 14 of this year. I am 62 yo. I could NEVER understand the KJV as it never made sense and I found myself reading the same verse over and over. I was given an ESV English Standard Version and I finally got to read it all the way through. However I did skip through some Begats. Now that I understand most of it, I am now once again reading the KJV. I started it recently on September 20th. I am now on 1 Samuel 11. God said, "Mary you have read many books, but you have yet to read mine." And he is right. So now I am going to continually read my Bible on a daily basis. Once I finish reading the KJV all the way through, I will have better understanding and I am told that God gives us different meanings almost everytime we read his word.
Congratulations on a worthwhile venture. God is good and this is what he wants you to do as much as you yourself wants to do it. God bless.
75 books are missing from the bible....taken out as not fitting the agenda they want to promote...make sure you read the books of Enoch..the gospel of Peter st Thomas and Mary Magdalene....you will see why they were bremoved.
The people who compiled the bible did not intend for its to be a Koran ie include everything. It was viewed as an evocative icon; one of many. Not being included in the bible =/= not valid, taboo, worth reading or iconic too.
This attitude changed in the West when, for many reasons, the Roman Church transformed Christianity from the Way of Life ie a deeply personal relationship with God that did not require an intermediary priest into a religion.
As members of the original Church observe, Christ didn't come to create another religion; He came to end the need for religions.
Orthodox Catholic Christians still joke, Roman Catholics became the first Protestants.when they formally severed ties with the original Catholic Church 1400 years after Pentacost.
There is the Douay-Rheims Bible (not the 1917 translation) and the Original Vulgate translated by St Jerome into Latin c AD 395.
Th Jews who wrote the Bible came from tribe of Jacob and it was written not about the supreme creator of all worlds but the invading aliens who wanted to be worshipped as gods....the supreme creator is never mentioned
I would love to. Where do you find them?
They Re free online....
Thanks and bless you for that. I will have to check in on it and read the missing word of God. Have a blessed day.
