I have not seen this brought up so here goes. In the first press conference, it is said that quote: "Mr. Pelosi and the suspect were both holding a hammer.", not that they were each holding a hammer. Big difference. Then, quote: "the suspect pulled the (singular) hammer away from Mr. Pelosi...". So, what this means is that both Dupape and Pelosi were holding on to the SAME hammer. Then Dupape wrestled it out of the grasp of Pelosi before assaulting him with the hammer. My 2 cents.
