It's "hands only cpr" nowadays. Supposedly more effective.
But circulation without respiration = death.
They did a study even before COVID it was hands only cpr that is more effective no more breathing unless it’s drowning.
I hear you. I'm a nurse. A body needs oxygen also is all. There is no getting around that. It's why EMS incubated and ambu bags are used. These pics show emergency responders. They would have been providing rescue breaths via ambu bags.
I just went through CPR training, it’s 30 compressions now instead of ten but still 2 breaths, 30:2 - though breaths aren’t as important as getting the blood moving.
