Remember all the talk about him having way too many satellites that it was causing some kind of obstruction? Was that total bullshit to begin with and does he have just enough for Starlink to work? If so, why was the slander happening so soon?

Not much to make. The problem of satellite reflectivity and interference with astronomical observations is an old one. I think I recall the International Space Station being complained about. The astronomers probably had to tailor their observing schedule to times when the ISS would not cross their field of view. The ISS wasn't so bad; there was only one of it. But thousands of little bright satellites? Not a good scenario. Astronomical observatories are in desolate locations because they can't tolerate the light pollution from metropolitan areas. If the skies are going to be criss-crossed with shiny satellites, that could put terrestrial astronomy out of business. I don't think that is a good outcome.
