Forgiveness is achieved when a person understands what he's done, has felt the real weight of it, admitted fault, and asked forgiveness with a true heart. Asking others to forget is another matter. For that part, they can eat shit.

Forgiveness never negates consequences. By all means forgive them, they still get a nice trial and prison or execution. They earned it.
