How is the internet speed where you are?
Is something afoot with providers? Any advice on boosting reliability?

What type of internet connection do you have....DSL, cable, satellite, fiber, mifi via cell network? And who is the provider?
Provider… TDS. Internet via phone line I believe
So DSL. From my experience, while slower than other types of connections, DSL is usually pretty rock solid and doesn't fluctuate. I had DSL for 6 years and in that time, one outage that lasted 15mins. Never had fluctuating speeds even though the speeds were abysmal. Have you called your ISP to have them run remote diagnostics on the line and router/modem?
I have contacted them and they say everything is as it should be ?? We have changed nothing on our end either. If anything we have less tech running on WiFi now than before
Have you tested bandwidth on a hardline to the router? Or used it connected hardline for comparison of buffering and such? I'd also be curious to see if there's any substantial packet loss happening over the wifi.
You might want to check and see if there is anything else running that might be interfering. Your system may be throttled by your own apps. If it's a new computer, you might have all sorts of stuff running that you didn't know about.
