Were the elections for the four regions in Ukraine to rejoin Russia legit?

Got into a discussion with a buddy tonight and he says residents were forced at gunpoint to vote. I had seen video of people celebrating in line on voting day, which made me think the elections were at least somewhat free. Comments?

See that’s your own fault, the information is there waiting for you to find it. I can drop a crumb, Youtube search Patrick Lancaster and Gonzalo Lira, those two have plenty of information about the entire conflict, for Patrick Lancaster that goes back to 2013 I believe.
